thats one thing about the LT1 engine is that the distributor is mounted on the lower front of the motor.... one of the worst places possible. and they arent water friendly. which is why I did the LTCC conversion and am now running coil packs.

What is the LTCC conversion? Coil packs sound a lot better than this opti. Please hip me. |

http://www.bailey-eng.com/ http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...egory_Code=C51 I'm currently running the MBA billet fuel rail covers in my setup (you can see a shot of what they look like on bailey's site), but I am planning on getting rid of them as I wont be able to use them when I finish the eaton supercharger install. the overall setup can get costly if you buy everything brand new. I bought my LTCC box from a friend along with the FRC's with brackets, then bought a set of coil packs online along with a set of custom spark plug wires as well. there is another alternative, but the site is blocked from me at work, so I will look for it tomorrow before I go into work.

Yup the OptiCrap on my vette is dying again. I am saving for another right now.
I rigged my waterpump so that it's ez to replace the wp gaskets when doing the opti job.(used sealant only on the pump side so the gasket is not sticking to the block when you remove it). |

and to daddyseth, http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonnection/default.aspx here's the other option that is out there for a LONG TERM fix for the opti. you can always switch to an LS1 pcm and run coils that way as well but its pricey.

another thing I just thought of.... is to convert to a Megasquirt setup and build your own computer.
