I think my Vararam is self destructing.

I only have 600 miles on my Vararam and now I see what appears to be stress marks or stretching of the plastic at the top of the intake. I attempted to email Vararam about this but my first email bounced back with a "user is over quota" permanent error and my second email has not been responded to.

Is this normal or should I really be concerned?

I'm no expert, don't even have a vararam....but this does not look like normal wear. Hopefully vararam takes care of you

Mine did the exact same thing, I called vararam, they requested a pic and sent me a complete new unit with no charge and a call tag for the old one. No sweat.

Yeah, call and they'll probably send you a new one, they seem to have excellent customer service, and a no hassle warranty.

Better have good customer service when it appears they make an inferior product.

So is this from the intake tube not having enough lateral give to accomdate the engine movement?

It kind of looks like that. His looks off center also. I've had mine on for at least 5k miles and no signs of this problem.

This is why I chose the CAI unit with the ADM performance scoop over the Vararam. Build quality of Vararam is questionable IMHO.

Although I like the VR idea, I don't know how this company will survive having so many returns, either for the V8 or the V6 versions.

I aknowledge that they have great customer service, but they need to sell without eturns to make some profit.

IMO if they go out of business, buyers will be let down. Hope that won't happen. Good Luck VR.

They will be ok. You see a few returns, but do you see all the none returns? I'm one of the none returns. Their intake is the best in my opinion. It may have a few qualms, but I'm a believer that it makes the most power. Own one and you'll see what I'm talking about. Vararam ftw.
