Who gives a crap if most ordered are V6 or V8? What does it matter?

con⋅sid⋅er⋅a⋅ble   /kənˈsɪdərəbəl/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [kuhn-sid-er-uh-buhl] Show IPA Pronunciation

–adjective 1. rather large or great in size, distance, extent, etc.: It cost a considerable amount. We took a considerable length of time to decide.
2. worthy of respect, attention, etc.; important; distinguished: a considerable person.
–noun 3. Informal. much; not a little: He has done considerable for the community.
–adverb 4. Nonstandard: Older Use. considerably; noticeably; much: I'm feeling considerable better now.

I guess it all depends on his definition of considerable. If half of the last 4,000 orders were v6, that would still mean that 30% of the total 10,000 were V6. That to me would be a CONSIDERABLE amount of V8s.

Do you mean for us on this thread, the general public, GM or you?

it is "considerable" even if it is only 20-30% of the total..considering they haven't advertised it yet

What makes a person a hardcore if you drive a V-8 over a V-6?
I chose a V-6 because that's what I wanted.

Exactly, he's saying what "sounds good" and stresses to readers the fuel efficiency of the car.....PR BS! Although I have read here that the V6 orders are starting to catch up....a good thing.

IN NEWSDAY (NY) on 01-04-09 paper in the automotive section there was a small article in summary it stated the Camaro convertable has been delayed for 6mo as well as for the challenger. I guess this is old news but it was in todays paper.

Hardcore, you would want to go for as much of everything as you can. Having the *sorry* lower model engine, isn't quite hardcore...

Wiki:
Adjective

hardcore (comparative more hardcore, superlative most hardcore)

1. Having an extreme dedication to a certain activity; diehard.

He's a hardcore gamer.

2. (slang) Particularly intense; thrillingly dangerous or erratic; desirably violent in appearance; pleasing or "cool" due to intensity or danger.

That show was ****in hardcore, dude.

3. Resistant to change.

Everybody (fanatics) knows the early orders are majority are v-8s but GM has to let people know it has a fuel efficient V-6. If GM said the majority is V-8, a lot of potential customers would rule it out saying they don't want a V-8 musclecar. Let's face it, I am certain there will be a fair amount of salespeople that don't know the Camaro will have a V-6. Sad but true.

It makes sense to promote the V6 when GM is in trouble. Congress can't be seeing GM promote the V8 with money that is intended to make it competitive with 4-banger imports.

Besides, that V6 is pretty amazing.

We all better hope the V6 sells like hotcakes because the V8 is just going to be for us enthusiasts, purists, and those with more money than brains.

Mark did the PC thing in that article by boasting about the "considerable" amount of V6 orders, even though in reality 8 out of 10 of the initial orders are for V8s.
