I'm FINALLY part of the CLUB

The Furious Flooded Floorboard Brigade! Woohoo!

It rained like he** here today. I've had 3 tops put on this car & never any water leaks, but I decided to lift up the floor mat & see if any water was there & what do you know? There sure was water sitting on the floor!
It was only the rear driver's side floor area though.

We'll see what it was - I think the drain probably came off the waterbag

Not good. I do not think these cars can be ever made right.

Unless they were right to begin with, 'cause mine's ok so far. I dread the day it goes bad, but for now we live for today!

I also have not had leaks yet. I will be getting my second 5th bow next week and getting water issues after that is what I worry about the most.

it makes me wonder; can a really heavy downpour overload the water management bag and flood it or cause a drain to disconnect?

That's why I think it's the drain tube on that side because if the whole bag was overloaded, I would think the whole car would ahve been flooded, not just 1 area

I had the 5th bow replaced twice in a two month period earlier this year. I really believe part of the problem was the old style water managment bag. It was too small, and when cold (45 - 50), it wasn't pliable enough to fit the top properly. I discovered water on the floor about the same time, so they replaced the bag as well. Since then, no leaks, and no broken 5th bow.
The drain tubes can disconnect, but another possibility is the drain screen could be blocked by leaves or debris. Then the water would flow over the ends of the bag near each door. The "ears" on the end of the WMB directs the water to the exterior cavity near the wheel well. If the ears are not positioned correctly, it drains to the interior side of the body cavity.

I just joined this yesterday myself. Already had 1 top put on; however, for me the rear passenger floorboard is just damp. I will be calling about this tomorrow.

Had our 5th bow replaced and it bent the first time we used it, took it back they replaced the 5th bow and water bag and have not had a problem since. Water bag was to small to accept the cold top.

does anyone know - is the water management bag actually part of the top? Is it all one system that comes together?

turns out it was the water drainage tube on driver's side. It was covered under the warranty from the 3rd top replacement. Dealership says they dried carpet out & kept a heat blower on it. Hopefully it doesn't smell too bad.

Must be something WRONG with my CONVERTIBLE. It has never leaked!!!!!! And yes I was in a downpour tonight again and the inside is bone dry as they would say in the old days. Michael in Virginia
