I agree with the other guys on here. The sound is more of a "tick" than a "knock". I'm going valve-train related as well. The ticking sounds more in time with camshaft rotation than crankshaft rotation. Keep us posted on the updates...

Sounds like a cam/lifter issue. Pull the blower/valley plate and look at the cam/lifters. I bet a lifter was taken out.

Ima fourth or fifth this. Definitely sounds like a valve train issue.

That's what I thought also. Bent pushrod or spring called it quits.
Stupid question....the ticking/knock sound almost seems to me that it is too rapid as compared to the exhaust sound. You positive it isn't coming from the blower? Easy test would be to remove the belt.

That is why and said he thinks it's the rod because it's too fast to be valvetrain

Really sorry to hear this. I would be sick especially since it sounded liked you had a proper conservative build. I have been checking your build as I will have a SLP TVS2300 install done at the end of this month. I have a L99 and want to run 8psi boost. If I knew what I know now, and would have got this involved with my car, I would have definitely bought the ZL1.
