War Against Microscratches: What Should Be In My Arsenal?
Alright so my car has 53k mi on it and it is time for a good polishing. However, I don't have anything to fight with. What should I get/ what have you used that worked fantastically.
I need a good machine buffer, applicator, polishing liquid, and whatever else you think would give me a +1. Let's try to keep the total cost in the $200 range

WHAT IS YOUR WASH PROCESS? I only ask b/c theres almost no point in even delving into the correction phase of things until you've got that dialed in.

Cheapest polisher - Porter Cable 7424 XP - $129.99
Backing Plate -$17.99 Pads x 6 - $49.99 That gets you at 197 ish before polishes. To keep costs down, you Meguiars Ultimate Compound and Meguiars Ultimate Polish which are $9.99 and $8.99 respectively, so your right around $220.00 which is the closest I can see you getting to $200.00 using inexpensive, but quality products. If you want, give me a call at 877.855.3125 -3201- and I can see what I can do for you in terms of shipping. Also, Camaro5 members get 10% off, although this wouldn't apply to the machine (but would to the chemicals, pads, backing plate). That would get you down to about $210. |

Dylan is spot on. Polishing is fun (although hard!) and the results are awesome, but with out a careful washing regiment to keep it scratch free, you will quickly watch your results go up in smoke after a few washes (and your blood pressure go up).
