Cam drivers
Ive had many Camaros but i never really got into the engine. I now have a 2014 1LE. I love the way Cams sound. Especially the Night Fury.
My question for you is: Do you still daily drive it? Being a 1LE, would it be a good idea considering i want to track it as much as i can? Does MPG change that much? Anything else good or bad about it? Thanks guys.

I don't have the NF cam but have a cam. Drivability as far as daily driving will depend on how aggressive you go. MPG will see a pretty good drop as far as driving around town, but on highway you won't notice as much of a difference.

^^ Exactly right.
I have the NF and it does buck below 1500rpm. Mine is not a daily driver. You will learn to drive the car differently to overcome the buck. Since you have 3.91s, that helps a lot, as I just put some in my car last week and it made a world of difference. My city gas mileage is 9mpg. Back when I used to drive on the highway, I got about 23mpg. So if you do all city driving, expect to get about 160 miles per tank. I would have a cam custom spec'd to what YOU need. I would venture to say if you are going to track the car and sustain high RPMs for long periods of time, you might wanna go with something that has a less aggressive lobe to it. You can still have the sound, but it wont beat up your valvetrain as bad. Any shop on here can custom spec something for you. A lot of really good people on here.

There are far safer cams to run for road course use. I went custom through Brian Tooley.

I daily drive my car with a cam. Already has over 3,000 miles as it's my only car. I finally got around to buying a second car, but only so I could add more mods to my car, lol.
Driving isn't bad with my cam, just depends on what cam you go with, and what you can tolerate.

Thanks. From what im hearing maybe the Night fury cam isnt the best option for me. I want something that has a nice sound/ power but will be great for track use.
Chances are ill be looking into a custom cam with the shop i go to.

http://www.wallaceracing.com/overlap-calc.php
The main factor in driveability is cam over lap. I would shoot for a overlap # under 5° for a DD. That is a good link to figure out cam over lap .

ADM stage 2 cam. Driven 60 miles a day round trip. According to the DIC I have not lost little if any Gas mileage on my normal commute. Highway I don't know yet.

Daily drive my cam with 3.91s. I have a mild cam but still has a nice lope. My mpg was not really decreased much at all and it has great power across the board.
