Cool Super Chevy Show Oct 22-24 (Duel In The Desert)

Hey guys! Check this out. Who's going? Straight from the Camaro Performers Website:

Join the Camaro Performers magazine staff and the crew from camaro5.com for "Duel in the Desert," a cruise from Ontario, California, to Phoenix, Arizona, for the Super Chevy Show on Friday, October 22nd.

The Camaro Performers magazine guys are proponents of driving their cars every chance they get, so when word went out that the Super Chevy Show would be hitting Firebird Raceway in Chandler, Arizona, they jumped at the chance to put together a cruise.

But driving through the desert will only be half the fun. The Super Chevy Show activities include drag racing, autocross, and show-n-shine. Camaro Performers magazine and Camaro5.com will present and award to the baddest fifth-generation Camaro (2010 - 2011) of the event. Camaro Performers, lateral-g.net, and pro-touring.com will also be handing out an award for the baddest overall Camaro (all generations). Points will be awarded to the quickest Camaro through the autocross and down the famed Firebird International Raceway quarter mile. The car will also be subjectively graded on aesthetics by the Camaro Performers staff and Camaro5.com moderators. The winners will receive a trophy and have their car photographed for a feature in Camaro Performers magazine.

Spectre Performance will also offer the winner tickets and hotel accommodations for two days to the 2010 SEMA show.

Camaro owners of every generation are urged to join in on the cruise and timed racing action.

"The Duel in the Desert" cruise will start at Spectre Performance in Ontario, California, the morning of Friday October 22nd. Cruise participants will be treated to donuts, coffee, swag, and tour of the facility. From there it's on to Blythe for a lunch stop, and then to Baer Brakes in Phoenix, Arizona, for a shop tour, refreshments, a car show, raffles, and more swag.

Cruise participants will be able to park in a special Camaro Performers/Camaro5 corral at the Super Chevy Show on Saturday, October 23rd and Sunday, October 24th.

"I hosted the very first Super Chevy Show ever back at my first year at Orange County Raceway 30 years ago, my staff is so excited to have this event coming back to Phoenix." Said Charlie Allen, owner and President of Firebird International Raceway.

Be sure to pre-register by Oct 3rd, to take advantage of the exclusive $70 discount rate, which includes two tickets for Saturday and Sunday's Super Chevy Show, two "Duel in the Desert" T-shirts, participation in drag racing, autocross, show & shine, goody bag, and the chance to win the Camaro Performers/Camaro5 trophy.

This is going to be a great time. Lots of giveaways and just a fun cruise across the desert. Not to mention plenty of drag racing and autocross fun.
It's a great chance to see your car in Camaro Performers magazine, too

We should be arriving at Baer around 4:30-ish. All you AZ folks can just show up there. Some my want to meet us in Blythe. That's cool, too. We'll have that stop information once on camaroperformers.com/duel in a few days.

You're right, Nick. This is going to be awesome!

Anyone who feels their ride is worth a feature in Camaro Performers magazine, email me a couple pics and some info on the car to camaroperformers@sorc.com.
Even if it's not totally feature worthy, we can work it in the Readers' Rides section. Maybe if we get enough, we can do a special 5th-gen Readers' Rides special. Just thinking out loud, but I think that would be cool.

Hey there! This is looking like it's going to be great weekend. I'll probably sign-up for the "Duel in the Desert" and meet up with everyone at Baer Brakes. Although my drive there will be shorter than most, just under 7 miles from my work.

See ya later!
