Best exhaust for Magna Charged SS??
I have a couple questions that maybe you guys that are familiar with F/I can help me with. I have ordered the Magna Charger 2300 for my SS and I am looking for opinions.
1. Should I leave the stock headers in place and just do a cat back or axle back exhaust or go for long tubes? (I am not looking for super loud sound either, as this will be my daily driver) 2. Leave the stock piping or go 3"? 3. Need advice on a CAI, as I don't really care for the Hennessey CAI, from what others have posted. Thanks all!! |

i was inquireing about exhaust for my car im getting i was looking at the arh longtubes 1 7/8 with their x pipe and cat s they told me to do just the longtube s and x first because they said the longtubes make it louder and then if i wanted the exhaust to be louder than that get an axle back
i also ordered a maggie for mine hopefully i should have a car and maggie by mid july/ august where did you order your maggie from ? i origionally ordered from magnacharger but found it 700$ cheaper at east coast supercharging its the exact same kit and will be drop shipped directly from magnacharger to me on 7-15-09 when they are released on the cai i would wait until all are out and see whats offered |

I ordered my Mag from ZZCamaro here on this site. My car got accepted last week of April, so I am hoping early June when it comes in. Pedders and exhaust will get installed first and then Mag probably in July or Aug, install depending on Archer Racings race schedule.
The only thing is - I had long tubes and 3" Flowmaster on my 98SS and I don't want it that loud again. I would like to hear some of the supercharger too... |

Get long tubes and then the NOWEEDS exhaust diverters. That way you have stock sound except for the occasions when you want to shake someone's tooth filling out before you smoke them.

I was worried that I would lose some low end with long tubes from what I thought I saw on some other threads, wasn't sure. I definately need to get rid of those stock mufflers, as they look like 2 extra gas tanks. I am kind of leaning toward borla exhaust but I want to hear it and make sure the drone isn't there.

Will that get rid of the "cats" then or will I have to move them? I used the O2 sims on my 98SS to make sure I didn't get the engine codes. Sorry for all the questions but this will be my first F/I car.

if you go f/i you'll need a tune, the tuner could turn off the O2 sensors so you don't get a code. i know a lot of mustang guys who have long tubes and did that.

The full cutout exhaust diverter will give you the best numbers with the 2300. plus you can turn it off/on. If you dont want the tanks get magnaflow mufflers for when you dont want the loud cutout open. magnaflow has good performance/sound. |
