Area-wide meet - would love some input
Going from the "crazy photo op" thread I'd love to get some input from our fellow Camaro5 members on what would be the best area / time to try to accomplish this!
We have a group of about 125 local gen5 Camaro owners that are spread out over Western Washington. Not sure how big local groups to the west/south of us are. Trying to see if we can coordinate a meeting spot "somewhere inbetween" where everyone is. Looking at a map of WA/OR it seems like some of the best bets to try are: Mt. St. Helens Columbia River ~ somewhere like the Gorge scenic area? There's this Skamokawa park at the mouth of the Columbia River that we could reserve a space (yurt?) http://vistapark.wordpress.com/ DATES: May 18 or 19 June 22 or 23 August 17 or 18 Please feel free to suggest other locations - parking for a large group would be the biggest concern. It'd be fun to find a big empty parking lot to do photos in (like a strip mall? empty warehouse or something) and then enjoy some scenic "car talk" time. Not necessarily in that order.

I would be up for the may 18/19th. After that, I have to start getting ready for sturgis. I would prefer someplace that would be a day drive. I am not really interested in an overnight thing.

I agree I'm open to the May 18/19. No over nite stay. Plus, I maybe back to a new job that might have me working Saturday's.

May 19 is good.
June weekend iffy. August weekend good so far. Day trip would be best. Vancouver/Portland area with easy access would be nice. MT. St. Helens is always a nice drive on a clear day. These would work for the Oregon people to hook up.

May 19th works for me. I would also prefer a day trip instead of overnighter. Anywhere along the Columbia works for me, Mt St. Helens would work too.

I would also mention that the Johnson ridge obsevatory at Mt saint Helen's
Has an elavated viewpoint above a very big parking lot . This location is much closer to I-5 than Windy Ridge area. |

May 18 is the 33rd(!) anniversary of the mountain blowing it's top. It'll probably be crowded that weekend.

The CRCC (according to their events page) is having a st. helens meet on the 25th. Was hoping someone would chime in here to see if there's interest.

Let's go on the 25th and we can meet them there or some place right off of I-5.
