Glad you had fun and congrats on the GXP! Confess I too was confused. When you say you took a "Boss down" I read it that you actually slayed the Boss as if you were competing against it.

I only posted this up because its a competitor to the 5th Gen. With me never driving one before and running low 8s I figured I would post the experience up especially since most of you ss owners probably will never drive one down the track.

My buddy has a 13 Boss.With the factory track tires,Kooks headers,Driveshaft shop driveshaft.Best so far,he ran a 12.4 at 116mph,2.01 60ft.DA was in the 700 range.
With the track key,91 octane.

Any new 5.0 is a good driver and great conditions away from running mid 12's bone stock.

the track key does nothing but give you a cool idle.

and you're lucky you could find second gear in that thing.

they really are a sweet car. and pull really well over 6000 rpm. but the poor trans and sound system kinda turn me off.

I was looking at the ss, challenger and the 5.0 for my new car and didn't even test drive the 5.0 mainly because it didn't have the tr6060 in it.

a friend of mine had a boss. under 3000 miles and the trans needed to be rebuilt. he just traded it off on a truck.


he let me drive it quite a bit. those boss 302's pull awesome over 6000 rpm.
