CEL Doesn't Work

Has anyone had the problem of CEL not working? As in the bulb doesn't work? If so, what did you have to do to fix it?

Had this problem on my sons eclypse. Put the ECU harness on and off a few times and it started working and got the code.
Probably and electrical connection somewhere.

When you first cycle the key in the ignition, the panel does a bulb test. See if the CEL illuminates at that time. If it doesn't, then the led/bulb is probably bad. Without seeing the PCB, you may be able to remove the bad and solder in a new one.

No, the bulb does not come on during the startup cycle. Is there a diy on how to do this?

If the CEL indicator does not turn on during the self check it is an LED/internal wiring issue. The IPC does a bulb check that is independent of the ECM control.
