all these other exhaust companies are pushing out inferior products that havent been properly tested.

if you want a great exhaust from a solid company, go with SOLO

Because the GMPP tips are 4.5'' in diameter, the ends of the exhaust tips need to extend out past the diffuser.

Here's how my GMPP tips are adjusted.

Ok, off the top of my head, Pete, I'm gonna say, and I could very well be wrong about this, but I'm thinking your tips are mounted too far back, like not out far enough....just in case you hadn't already deduced that.
What's up, buddy? Ain't the same is it? Brings to mind a Harvey Danger song lyrics....but I digress. Thanks for the headsup. When I had the mufflers removed I had the stock tips welded back on straight, not cocked, and rearward a bit....evidently luckily.

You had to bring Al into this didn't ya? Well personally, I enjoy using the google. If that's irrelevant I don't care. And you know there may be some basis to the GW thing. Was the temp. in VA at the time of the melting around 180 or so???

Oh, and finally....an avatar pic that doesn't turn my stomach. That's a great shot, man!

Nothing like taking forever to get the video posted!

Not the greatest sound quality, but gives you some idea at start-up, a few revs and pulling away.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the GMPP exhaust just connect to the existing exhaust mounts on the car? If so, then someone installed them wrong on this persons Camaro. See my the picture below

You have a good one inch of play with the hangers to adjust back and forth, at least on my Borlas. Better to be too long than short I guess

So, it all depends on where you cut of the existing exhaust and place the new one. That's good to know. Then it looks like someone cut too much off or just position the new exhaust a little to far back. When I do mine, I want mine to stick out a little, like the factory does.

There is definitely room to adjust with the GMPP setup. I didn't want mine to stick out too far. The dealer did exactly what I wanted. However, the exhaust wasn't perfectly centered in the opening. That's what caused the melting. They centered it when they replaced the diffuser and there is no sign of any problem at this point.
