That shows a good shop. Checked before it went uh-oh. Most of the shops near me would of just slapped them on.

Moving on to the next fun mod. New motor is coming in. Old shortblock is sold and we're moving forward. This summer is going to be fun fun fun.

That's the good thing. I found ECS originally on here 2 years ago so I've been taking my car there since I bought it. So I know I can trust the work that they've done. 800+ wrhp and never a problem.

Yea, funny about that Jamie and I were talking about shops that would've just slapped them on. I'm blown away that an issue like this was found. The quick fix would've been .025" cut and they would've had to take the new heads apart to match it up for the valve relief since the valves on the new heads are at a different angle. As far as I'm concerned it's a blessing in disguise. I'll have a completely new long block, and new blower. After this, I have nothing else to do to the car. That sucks.

So here's what we have come up with so far. Because the heads I bought are 6-bolt, we decided that it only seems fitting to run a 6-bolt block. Because there's only so many options for 6-bolt blocks, we decided to use a LSX 427. The components that will used are Wiseco pistons, Callies rods, and a Compstar crank. TSP says it will take 2-3 weeks to build, so in the real world, that means 2- 3 months.

I'm sure it won't be, but at the same time, during the winter, the car would be in the garage anyway, so it's not like I'm in a rush to get it back.

Since, I'm going to be running a YSi, using that small of a bore, I won't get the full potential of the blower, I also run the risk of blowing the motor if I use too much boost. I could have the LSX bored to that size, but I'm also shooting for that 1K at the wheels. Everyone that's on board and all the research I've done is pointing to do at least a 408, but there's no fun in that. All the components are going to be used to there full potential, and we're not using anything but what's recommended. Therefore, we're not going with a Compstar crank. We're going to be using the Callies Dragon Slayer wet sump crank. All ARP bolts or the mains and the heads.

Lets hope that is the case. 2-3 is pretty quick. I waited 9 months for my motor.

I sorta look at it, the more time that is taken on it, the more precise it'll be. I talked to TSP a few days ago, and they're the ones who told me 2-3 weeks, but we'll see. Did you order your motor yourself, or through a shop. Someone mentioned to me that when a shop orders it, they may tend to have a little more pull. We finalized the build today and ECS is going to put the order in on Monday.

This is going to be the convertible from hell
