My leather boot is starting to crack and thought I would just buy a new boot that already has a retainer with it or a retainer and adapter. I can't find anything like that out there. Anyone have any advice or help? This is the threading on my shift knob.
I think you're going to have to go with an aftermarket shifter to make that work and have the height like you want it. Any adapter is going to add to the height of the shifter. If you look in the attached picture it shows how the factory knob has grooves to push down into and hold it in place. Your knob has threads that need to be screwed on. You would need an adapter that would push on then have threads to screw on the knob, which I don't know where to start to get one of those. If you also look at the picture you can see the whole assembly is one piece, so there's not shortening it without replacing it all.

Great to hear, thanks - I'm dropping my car off with them so they can do some work on her next week. I was also happy to find a good source of Adams products (a bit closer to me than Summit).

Yeah and they have a whole lot more of their products than Summit. Anything that Adams has on their website they usually have it in stock. Rob used to work for Adams. He has helped me out with a lot of stuff that I have done. I need to get down there and pick up some of the Americana Paste Wax. The buttery wax can be a pain. I figured out that the weather must be damn near perfect (really low humidity) at the time of application.

Rob and David are awesome. They used to be in the Doraville area, but moved a bit ago. Haven't been to their new location, but may take mine to the spa soon.

What do they charge for a full detail? Let me know how it goes I'm in the market as well.

Got the motor in and started up sounds great! But when I went to put it in gear it wouldn't go in at all it would do is lurch forward a little but it would go into gear when it's off

Anyone that has an idea of what it is feel free to let me know I won't be able to work on it again till this weekend

Ranges from 300-800 I think depending on what product is used, extent of polishing, and if you have the hydrophobic coatings applied

My exact thoughts. There's a guy off of Peachtree Industrial what will wash, clay, buff, and wax my car for $200. He does all the Audi, Porsche, and Maserati dealers work and comes highly recommended by Blake's dad at North Perimeter Collision. I think I'll be using him at those prices you could get the car repainted lol

Assuming the car is an M6, you have a clutch spacing / engagement problem. The slave isn't compressing the pressure plate forks/springs far enough to allow disengagement of the disk for you to put it in gear. In short, it's dragging.

A quick test to confirm this is jacking up the rear of the car so the tires are in the air and not under any sort of load. Crank the car, attempt to put it gear. If it starts turning the back tires as you're trying to jam it in gear that is your problem.

What clutch setup do you have? Either way the trans will have to be pulled to fix this problem.
