5th gen onstar hardware problem

i just recently purchased a camaro ss2. the on-star is showing a red light on mirror. talked with on-star and they mentioned it is a hardware problem. i think the previous owner disconnected something so as not to be seen.
any suggestions

The easiest way for Mr. Paranoid to have disabled OnStar would have been to pull the fuse.

F14 in the rear fuse box (in the trunk).

Did you buy it as is or does the car have a warranty? if so have the dealer or whoever you bought it from fix it.

i just purchased car from dealer and they will fix. dealer is an hour away and if it is an easy fix as a fuse, i will try that first than if not go to dealer.
