How difficult is it..
to look over your left or right shoulder for changing lanes while driving in this car. Pics would be great.

Big word of advice for you:
If you're on a one-way street, only parallel park on the right side of the road - parallel parking on the left is a beast because of the visibility. |

If you set your rear view mirrors correctly, you don't have to look over your shoulders at all. Search for it...you can eliminate blind spots by setting the mirrors right.

I am w/ mhood, it's a mirror thing, most people feel they need to see their own car...but why...you should already know where that is.

Set your mirrors out just far enough where you can no longer see the rear end of your car. You will then be able to see your blind spot. Works very simple for me.

No doubt about it, the visibility is quite limited especially when you look over your right shoulder. Toughest position I have found is when I have pulled forward into a diagonal parking space along the right curb. Backing out of there is tough because you want to see diagonally over your right shoulder to see on-coming traffic.
You can get used to it and adjust your mirrors correctly and enjoy plenty of "event-free" driving. No doubt. As a new driver, the real key is to learn to be patient and careful. When I taught my daughter to drive I repeated one thing many times...."Be predictable, don't surprise anyone with what you do. And assume that everyone else is going to do something unexpected." With the visual restrictions inherent to the Camaro design, be careful to NOT assume things are clear. Instead, assume you should look one more time even when you think it is OK to proceed. Another key is keeping track of things before you need to know them. Stuff like knowing where the nearest cars in the adjacent lanes are, even when you aren't planning to move over. Get the Camaro. Be careful. And have fun.

I have no issues at all changing lanes. Backing up took me a bit to get used to but it still wasn't that bad.

You could always go with the rule I used for my first years of driving, if you stay moving faster than everyone else, you wont have to worry about being rear-ended when changing lanes...not good advice...but sounded good at 16.
