ONSTAR MyLink Mobile App - 2010 Camaro support coming next year!!!

My message to ONSTAR support:
I am very disappointed that the OnStar mobile app for iPhone does not support the 2010 model Camaro. I have been waiting for this application for my car for a long time. I do not plan on renewing my OnStar subscription because you will not support my car for this application.

Response:
Dear Mr. X,

Thank you for taking the time to e-mail OnStar.

The OnStar MyLink mobile app will be made available on most 2010 model year GM vehicles in 2011. More to come.

Please feel free to reply to this email if you have any other questions, call us at 1.888.4.ONSTAR (1.888.466.7827) or press your blue button.

Sincerely,

XXX
OnStar Information Specialist

When Onstar is free I will download this app for my iPhone. I refuse to pay for something that is free from Ford. Until Onstar and GM realise this their subscriber base will continue to shrink.

Sync's equivalent features to OnStar are NOT free (they give you a "no extra charge" subscription for navigation, etc for 1-3 years depending on the car, sames as GM does with OnStar), plus Sync doesn't have the customer service base OnStar does (you can not get a human on the line) and uses your mobile phone for connection (OnStar has its own mobile connection so if you forgot your phone or your phone battery dies you're still covered). And Sync has no phone App (yet).

Sixty dollars a year is a far cry from GM's minimium $240 dollars a year. Onstar has to be competitive with Sync, until then it is broken and not worth the money.

As I said you don't get all the same services (such as theft recovery and vehicle disablement, lockout service, live operators in a crash, etc). That said the standard price on OnStar is a bit steep, but they are willing to deal on the phone if you ask.

"most" 2010 models. That makes me nervous. I'll still probably not be renew OnStar if they don't bring the 2010 Camaro to the app.

I'd say the Camaro is a lock, but a car like the Vette which probably has an older gen box in it, maybe not...

We (2010 owners) shouldnt have to wait till 2011. We shouldve been first on the priority list. If anything we (2010 owners) shouldve gotten OnStar support here in 2010 and 2011 owners should have to wait till next year, not the other way around....LOL.

Smile Yay!

I'm at least glad they listened to us and will look forward to the app working for our 2010's. I'm an Android junkie, so that might just make my life complete! LOL!

I waited for On*Star to cancel... and they kept calling.
I currently pay $2.99 a month for On*Star. Yep... they just kept dropping the price.

Soooo... $36 is a far cry from... Ford's $60???

Wait, what?
