How did you drive it home for the 1 hr 45 min drive? Was it all highway or combo city highway. What speeds did you go?

Great info.

I also had over the winter 3:91 installed via Livernois, and just today, weather nice to get Camaro out to start temper process.

We ran mine for a while on the hoist then left it overnight. A drive for about half and hour then cooled it down for a couple of hours before I picked it up and drove it home, 40 miles, at 55 mph. After that I took it fairly easy for the next 500 miles before I went to the track. Gears have been dead silent for the past 10,000 miles.

He just told me to take it easy, not to go over 65. She's just fine...

Camaro Corvette GTO CTS G8 Firebird Truck performance tuner in Tampa Orlando

I had my clutch and rear end gears done at the same time. I had a 2 1/2 hour trip home on the turnpike from the shop in south NJ that did the work.

Maybe it stopped to hit the head and grab some turnpike food on the way home, but that was it. Kept it under 70 and 4000 RPMs for 1000 LLLLLLLLong miles, then changed the differial fluid. Never was an issue.

The clutch on the other hand chatter at enguagement from the shop until yesterday (7 years later), when I got tired of it and left it at the shop for a new clutch.

How many heat cycles do you think GM puts on their gears before it hits the showroom floor.

I just talked to the shop owner where I'm having them done and he said that they will do the initial break-in and that if I keep it under 65 with a couple cool downs I should be fine. I do agree that these GM gears are hardened and ready to go so I'm not too worried now! If these were Richmond gears I'd be more concerned! I appreciate everyone's advice and experiences!

Stupid question, but what is the major difference between these and stock gears?

more torq.. i believe 13% more on the LS3 and like 20% more on the L99...

BAM!

"This lower (higher numerically) ratio rear drive gear will increase effective rear wheel torque multiplication in 2010 - 2013 SS Camaros by 13% (over standard 3.45 ratio) in a manual tansmission-equipped car, and 20% (over standard 3.27) in an automatic-equipped car."
