Anyone know where I can get a new LS7 block?
Long story short, took my Z28 on some European trackdays last year.
At roughly 170 mph on the autobahn one of the sportcats collapsed, leading to head gasket failure and a piston cracking. Got that fixed but car overheated again shortly afterwards, have rechecked and theres a crack in one of the bore liners Looking at getting it resleeved but if this isnt possible Ill need to replace the block, funnily enough they arent exactly common here in the UK |

I would suggest contacting any of these reputable companies. They all specialize in LS engines. You may need to be prepared to take the LS block of your choice and modify it to be an LS7.

Nice one, thanks guys. I really want to stick with the LS7 if I can as its not really an Z28 without one, hopefully sleeving will work but it snot going to be cheap either way

Replacing the LS7 block is a viable option if resleeving is not possible. The LS7 block is not commonly found in the UK, but there are a few sources that can provide you with a new one. Some reputable sellers include Katech, Mast Motorsports, and Ed Rinke Performance.

I bought a cracked LS7 block off of a racer friend of mine. Was cracked from a valve snapping off. The crack went into the water jacket. His local machine shop wouldn't touch it. I paid him $200 for it. I took it to my world class machine shop Jan-Cen Racing Engines and Mike Janis himself came out to take a look at it. He said that he's repaired way worse blocks and that it shouldn't be a problem. I will let you know when I get it back, what the total dollar amount was.

Another great shop is Livernois, they have a very nice machine and fabrication facility which can more than likely easily handle your issue. If that fails I would highly recommend going with a RHS block which will handle whatever you throw at it especially in a natural aspirated setup.

Tell me about it, Id just spent the best part of $5K getting the head gasket - that we thought was the problem - fixed as well
If the liners dont work I dont want to think about the potential cost, I cant imagine getting a block shipped from US to UK is cheap and if I put anything other than an LS7 in its not a Z28 anymore ........ |

Excuse my earlier post, I overlooked that you were located in the UK, however there are Chevrolet dealerships in the UK I think that you should be able to order the block that trickskier provided if it comes to that.
