How do you get a 2nd key without getting the recall

I recently just bought a 2011 Camaro and I only got one key. So I want to get a second key without having to get the recall. I will prob buy a blank key with the fob off of ebay. At my school we have the tech 2 scanner would that program the fob and the chip? What other options do I have without having to go to the dealer to get it programmed ? Thanks in advance

Just did it.
Buy the key and fob off Ebay (mine was $23.00).
Take it to a good locksmith that has the equipment to laser cut the blank.
Use your original key/fob and insert it, turn it to the on position, turn it back off then insert your new key/fob and turn to the on position.
Now your new key and fob are programed.

You just need to be able to get the key cut, you can program it yourself in the car.

The only thing I will add to the above is, you do have to wait for the security light on the dash to go off before turning it off and inserting the new key.

Go to the dealer and order one. I did this last week and got the original style key without any mention of the recall I won't be participating in...
