The body has fevers when it is fighting pathogens- could be any foreign substance - even the cancer- the body could be trying to burn it out.

Stephanies Fever Broke
Well what ever was in the I-V they gave her in the ER looks like it did the trick so far. She got back from testing at UAB last night. Her fever was now down to 97.5
This is a very good thing. A cold or infection in a cancer patient could be a life threatning. She is really tired and wore out from all the testing but the fever is gone. Thank you all for the prayers. I am sure they helped. Scott Sherman |

As an ER RN, its usually normal saline in the IV and it helps to bring down the fever, but temporarily. Please be sure to wash hands all the time, avoid taking her to places where other sick people are. Esp. after chemo, she should stay inside for awhile. Best of luck and prayers are with you

Scott, I haven't replied to your post so far because as a father of 3 I just can't comprehend what you are going through and don't want to admit it is possible. I have added your daughter to my prayers and I wish your family much health and happiness. Jamie
