My thoughts too, if you can actually hear this, could be something loose in there. Go over it good while someone is in the drivers seat giving it some gas - you can possibly witness yourself where the gremlin is hiding. May just be a simple turn of the wrench. Check it out and let us know what you find. I haven't installed the Vararam in my wife's LT yet, no time - too damn busy. Wish I could offer more......but seriously check under the hood when you have a trusted friend throwing some gas through that motor.

Ehh I dont feel like burning up my clutch lol I popped the hood after I drove it around hard and everything was still snug in place.

Engines dont really move in neutral either, you can only tell when its under load in gear. In fact I dont think you could effectively and safely do it on a manual without attaching a camera to the hood. I may actually do that lol.

Well, what I meant by movement, is you will just want to make sure the area for the air inlet hasn't closed up when you get back from driving. When I first installed mine, I had it adjusted correctly and then I'd drive, and when I came back I could no longer fit the keyfob in that area where the air rushes in to the intake, whereas when it is adjusted properly you should be able to fit the keyfob inbetween there.

After doing some more grinding down on the brackets it now rests back in place.

But yes, while driving the intake is going to be moving around some because of the engine movement.

I'd be willing to bet that if you goose it in neutral the engine will move some...I'm almost sure it does.

Third time at the track today with this intake. Down to 14.263 @ 97.09 (2.058). Was 14.72 before the intake.

Went to check on the install of my Vararam Kit, found the two bolts that hold the brackets to the raditor support, loose. Maybe time to get some thread lock for the bolts?

Mine did that at first. Instructions say to not tighten them too much, but, I guess I did not tighten them enough.

Hey guys how tight should I tighten the bolts for the brackets to give the most air intake and still not vibrate out? Also I just read a magazine that showed a 2011 v6 camaro with twin turbos only pushing out 350 hp. That is crazy right, because the engine is 312 stock but rwhp for manuel is 252 and with our VR makes it 278 rwhp at 26 hp gain. The installer last name "comp" said you should gain 150 hp. That would be a 400 rwhp right. Anyways I really don't know if I can tell the difference wondering if I should of went with K/N. Though i can hear the sucking sound.

The 312hp the car is rated at is at the crank not RWHP. All the HP #'s you see that cars are rated at are crank power before the power lost. And yes most M6 do dyno 252rwhp. The turbo kit #'s you see are rwhp which is good since the LLT doesn't have a HPFP to get high boost. Grechen and Bmore can chime in with better details. And the K/N intake is not better than the VR. And I don't see how you don't feel any difference with the VR! Can you say what you were expecting exactly? If the VR doesn't do it for you none of the intakes will really impress you honestly!

I was hoping for faster in first and second I feel the difference in 3rd also should I use 91-93 octane with the VR. As far as the turbo 350 is not a 150 Hp gain from rwhp but at lease 100 Hp. I was told half a second off 0-60 which should be 5.4-5.5 and .3 off the quarter which should be down to 14.0-13.9.

Ok I figured out why my VR intake was not acting right. The bolts in the brackets came out and the piece that helps the air into the intake was down by the grill.

Also keep in mind that the gains you make in 1st and 2nd gear arent as big as 3rd. Low enough that you MAY not feel it. Its a ram air effect so the faster you go the colder and more air the engine can take in and will take in.

And for those who are concerned about water like I was I did a test the other day and I was really surprised by the results. Long story short it would be difficult to hydrolock with this intake.
