I thought the automatic V6 had the same HP as the manual? And isn't the automatic faster than the manual?

Keep the car. Mod it a little...

The automatic actually has room to grow. It can handle more if you make some mods you'll get a bit better speed.

That car is actually one of the dealer cars. Black/gray, 1LT, Auto, no RS, Sunroof, C&C pkg, 19" polished aluminum wheels. MSRP is $27,945.

The numbers go like this (in FL anyhow):

$27,945
+$30.50 (CVR, Tire fee, Battery fee)
+$599 (Average dealer fee. Can range from $75 to $899 depending on where you go)
=$28,574.50 (amount taxable)
+$1,714.47 (6% sales tax)
+$25 (average county tax)
+$250 (new tag)
=$30,563.97 Out the door.

So it looks like the dealer marked it up a little bit, but not $10,000 as stated above. What most of you don't realize is that when the MSRP is $31,000, that doesn't mean you pay $31,000 out the door. You have to include taxes and fees and such. If the car had an MSRP of $31,000, you would be at $33,802.27, MSRP of $37,000 would put you at $40,162.27 (using the same formula as above).

And Los Angeles county is 9.25 sales tax.

WHY ARE YOU ASKING $38,000 FOR YOUR CAR THAT YOU PAID 32K FOR?

worse than price gouging dealers... just because you were hasty, you want to try and rip somebody off? You will never get that.

Since you say the car is paid off why don't you just take it to a dealer and use it as a trade in for another car? This sounds a little suspect to me. I you had 32k to buy a 2LT why wouldn't you have used that money as a down payment and financed the remaining amount on a 2SS? Something smells really fishy here.
