I had Hawk Ceramics on my '10 SS and was happy with the decrease in dust.
I have a set that I'll be putting on RocketZed soon.
I do not track; but it is a DD.

The good news is that it is so easy to change pads!
So ceramic is fine on the street and get track pads for the track! Best of both.

Great idea! I will probably change out wheels and tires for the track anyway so as long as I am there.

When changing to ceramic pads is there any rotor prep?I thought I remember reading to clean the rotors with fine steel wool and soap and water. Is this necessary? Thanks in advance.

I didn't, but it makes some sense to start with clean parts.

I'd skip the steel wool and just wipe down the rotors and calipers
with a mild cleaner to get all the dust off.

I have seen a spray can of brake cleaner used to clean the rotors before reattaching them.

Ok, so where is the best place to look for price on the Ceramic Hawks.
I am going on a long trip in June and for all the street driving they will be fine, just want to reduce the dust for a street ride over two weeks.
