How Long can ZL1 sit before battery dies?
I live in Manhattan and generally drive my car once at least once a week during the Summer, but sometimes only once every two weeks during the Winter.
These drives are typically 80-90 miles round trip on the highway, so they do give the car a workout. This schedule has never been a problem for my Corvette Grand Sport in terms of the battery dying, but how would this affect the ZL1? I park my car in a public indoor garage, so attaching a charger to the car is not an option. Thanks, Ken |

It is very common for my car to sit for 2 to 3 weeks in between driving and I never had any issues.

Car sat out in the backyard (covered of course) for 4 months during first winter. No problems at all.
Car sat in a garage, corvered, for 3 months, battery was as dead as it can be. I couldn't even charge the battery with a newer type digital battery charger (a very renowned - CTEK), i had to get a oldschool analog charger from a Mazdaguy to charge it a bit at first, so i could switch back to my own charger.

Go fast, please.

Mine sat in the garage uncovered from November until April and the car started right up. No warning lights on the dash about the battery dying or anything. I might hook it up to a battery tender this year though.

my '13 sits for about a month a a time.....no problem so far.....during the winter, I use a battery tender; "my guy" claims that there is a parasitic battery drain when the car sits for an extended period....not sure if that is accurate, but the tender helps

the last 2 winters - 6 to 7 months - no trickle charger (couldn't find it, lol, found it when I moved) and fired right up in the spring. Unheated garage in MI, around 40*, battery connected, alarm set. Surprised, last car would be dead.

If you are using your start ups as a means of charging the battery, then you should plan at least a half hour run in between starts. The winter will be much harder on your battery, so plan to start it a bit more often. Be careful with electronic accessories, as they will contribute to parasitic power drain.
