My Camaro's status has been upgraded

I just found out today, that my retirement was approved and went into Official Effect December 9th, 2022 ... I have been a FREE MAN for 10 days and didn't realize it

Before I got this news however, my wife told me that since I was trying to retire (I haven't been to work since September 30th), we needed to think about the Camaro ... because we really didn't NEED two cars

She decided, ALL ON HER OWN, that since I didn't need the Camaro to get me back and forth to work everyday - that we should GARAGE IT every winter ... THAT WAY, I can fix it (I took it to mean the bad L/F wheel bearing and fuel pressure sensor - BUT, it might also mean the couple of spots of rust that are developing as well), slowly and over time I figured. Because THEN she said, THIS WAY, it will last me longer ....

Her reasoning was that she doesn't drive much and if we (her and I, or all 4 of us) go anywhere, we take her car anyway. She also wants me to keep it fully insured, in case of an emergency and we need two cars at some point.

It took me a while, but I FINALLY realized I have an AWESOME wife!

My Wife =

Happy Retirment!

Congrats on your retirement!

Hope you enjoy it to the fullest.

P.D.: You mentioned your car is developing a couple of rust spots. Do you mind sharing the actual places so we can check those too?

Good thing they don't make me a moderator.
With my sense of humor I'd pin this in a thread titled
I need to get out of the doghouse, buy a part or get some attention from the wife
so I'll make a glowing review post and show it to her

Any idea of her Trade-in value?

There are two areas developing some rust. The first one is the seam at the inside bottom of the driver's door. This one, I can most likely repair myself, since it is hidden, and no one will see the repair.

The 2nd one is a lot more serious. It's on the driver's side quarter panel, and it started a few years ago (of course about 2 months AFTER the rust-through warranty expired). It started as a small bubble about an inch away from the edge of the quarter panel near where the rear bumper cover meets the panel. It has since grown into a few rather large bubbles and has reached the edge of the panel, where it's starting to get really nasty looking.

When I first noticed it, I took it to the dealer (thinking I was still under warranty). The body shop manager (a$$hole), after telling me I was out of warranty, said he could "fix" it, but would not guarantee the repair once the paint dried, for $1,200. THEN he said he could fix it and guarantee it for life ... for $4,000, by replacing the entire quarter panel. So instead telling him what I was really thinking, I just took the car home and have lived with it since.

Happily living alone here...I don't have to worry about those discussions...grin...my life partner lives in another state and she loves cruising in my Camaros when she comes to visit.

Wow, that color really pops. I wonder if there are downsides though.
