trunk won't open?

I am detail cleaning my camaro for an upcoming event I started with cleaning out the trunk and now it won't open using the key fob or button on the door so I have to use the manual release.

Any thoughts?

Fyi - I checked the fuses and I didn't remove any panels in the trunk.

Thanks for the help!

Do you hear the pop noise when you push the button on the door or the key fob. I had that happened to me with my first car a couple of time . I just let it sit and the next day it was working again.

It's going to be the trunk actuator. Happened to my first 5th Gen 2 years ago. It's about a $90 fix if you get the part and do it yourself.

On my car you could push the button on the door or fob, hear the mechanism, but trunk lid wouldn't open. I had to push down on the trunk lid/spoiler and then push the key fob to get it to open. Its worked since then, but I've read where others have had to adjust the rubber isolaters on either side up I believe and that solved the problem for them.

Some times you can just turn the accuator 1 turn and it will work . Mine did that the first week ,I adjusted it and all is good .

Trace the wiring from the actuator back, looking for damage or loose connector.

FIXED! My wife didn't put the roof all the way down.

It looked like it was down, but a short drive told the tale on the drivers information center AKA the DIC
