driveshaft coupler

I am wanting to upgrade my v6 rear differential to a SS. but i hear the driveshaft couplers are different from the v6 to the v8. can i just buy a new coupler or do i need to purchase a whole new drive shaft?

Isnt the v6 m6 diff the same as the v8? Im assuming that you must have an a6?

yes i do have a automatic. when i buy the new rear differential it will be a differential from a automatic v8.
