How to remove nail polish off of paint

Ok, I know this sounds weird... When I wash my car and am drying it, my hand slips sometimes using the California squeegee. I have nail polish on my nails, and they have skidded across the paint a couple of times. I don't know if I should just take nail polish remover on a Q-Tip and get it off of the paint and quickly wipe off with a damp cloth and then just detail spray over it, or how much the remover might impact the paint and finish on the car. The car is black so every little mark does show up, this is why I am concerned with how this might affect the paint.

Anyone have any experience with something like this?

Thanks...

If it is dry when it happens, just wash it off. I'd never use acetone on any car, specially the Camaro

It is dry (the nail polish) when it happens. But it doesn't just wash off unfortunately. I haven't tried the clay bar, but I do have one so I will try that.

As far as not using the cali squeegee, I don't know how I could get the car dry without worrying about the spots, it works miraculously.

Have you had some issues with it?

I don't know how to remove your existing marks for sure but I put several coats of clear over my color nail polish because of that very reason so I don't get it on the paint, I used paste wax to remove red nail polish from my white harley after this happened to me and it came off.

Yes, I am a female too

Though it still wouldn't matter would it, the issue would be the same. Even though it would be odd....

What is "white" compound, and how does it differ from "red"?

White compound is much less agressive and is referred to as polishing compound. Red is referred to as rubbing compound, which is about as bad as sandpaper. Red should never be necessary unless you have some major paint damage. I think the scratch remover will be all you need. If it doesn't work, I'd press a little harder. Just remember to keep a liberal amount on your 100% cotton cloth. I've removed touch up paint and deeper scratches with a scratch remover. Even polishing compound will leave a lot of scratches in the paint that will be hard to remove, especially in black. I prefer the Meguiers, but Kitt Scratch Out works wonders and is inexpensive.
