I've been meaning to get around to a build journal for some time now. Well here it finally is.

I traded in my 2006 Ford Mustang GT (Windveil Blue) for this monster. I absolutely love this car and the color even more. I know the Synergy Green is an acquired taste, but boy does it pop.

Her first day at home (Sometime in Mid March 2011).

Next project was to paint my engine cover. A fairly easy process, even thou I did have to order a replacement engine cover to paint because I got a little crazy with the paint on the first one. All in all, the engine cover and fuse box cover came out well. I am quite pleased.

Took her up to the local Burtonsville, MD Sunday morning gathering and a 1st Gen Camaro SS, kind of the same color parks right next to me.

The next project was to liven this beast up! She is toooo quiet from the factory! So I decided to give here some growl.

I went with a MagnaFlow Competition Series Axleback and Magnaflow Tru-X pipe (Muffler Delete), all off Amazon.com at a great prices. I removed the huge stock middle resonator that come on the L99s and inserted the X-Pipe and had some additional pipe work done to bridge the gap.

I am quite pleased with the sound; at WOT this beast roars. It is still subtle, but noticeable luoder at idle and such, which is what I wanted. The drone from the AFM is really not noticeable to me, but I will get it tuned out eventually.

Decided to take her to the 2011 Camaro Nationals in Frederick MD and register in the show.

I walked out with Third Place in my class (Stock)! Not bad at all, I say. The key to these real judged shows, not popularity contests where all your friends vote for you, is cleanliness in all aspects of the word. The show was great and tons of nice Camaros from all generations.

Went to the 2011 All Chevy Show presented by the Maryland Camaro Club. A great group of ppl, btw. I actually helped judge the 57'-59' Chevy Bel Air class. It was a great experience and actually saw what the criteria was for the cars. Once again, I saw it really came down to overall cleanliness.

I ended up taking home "Best in Class"

I needed something different for the front. I decided to order a Heritage Grill from Becky at Rodgers Chevrolet. Grill came is great condition and she even threw in a couple towels and a t-shirt.

The install was quite simple in terms of removing the front bumper. The only issue was the removal of the very top bolt because there is very little room to manuever the wrench, but I eventually got it out.

I love the look of the Heritage Grill. I decided I didnt want it naked, but also didnt want to put back on the Chevrolet badge. So I ordered an SS badge that is made for the Heritage Grill.

Been busy since I last posted in my build journal.

Ordered some G2 Brake Caliper Paint in Red a while back. Very easy application. I jacked the car up, took two wheels off at a time and had at it. G2 is a very good paint. Found it on eBay for the low. After a multiple coats to be safe and letting it sit overnight, this project was complete. I spent approx. an hour on each brake caliper, alternating between each. I am quite pleased and the shine has stayed up. They have been painted for about 7 months now and still looking like they were painted yesterday.

I also found some black Brembo stickers, which I affixed to each caliper (really stands out).
