Just in case
You was wondering, a 2SS/RS with L99 (A6 trans) top speed limit is 131 mph :P Me and my wife was curious on our drive down to Dallas today. I can't wait to get a dyno and bump that up some among other things

I haven't heard that. So your saying your L99 wouldn't go any faster than 131 mph (hit fuel cut off/electronic speed limiter)? If my L99 wasn't already tuned, I'd go out and test this right now. Your trying to tell us the L99 A6 SS Camaro has a lower speed limit than the V6 Camaro? Last edited by SGOS252382; 08-01-2009 at 05:42 PM. |

A good question would be what's the fastest you've gone in your stock
L99 A6? I have a very hard time believing GM would limit the A6 SS to 131mph. |

No way. If you hit a limiter at that speed then something is wrong or you misread or something. I had to do it once and I hit 140 mph. Closer to 142. Flame away if you want but I had 'help' on the roadside. I-10 between Exit 10 and the Mississippi line. 2 am and no traffic. Blocked on both sides.
Still stupid, sure. Just had to do it once. |

I hit 120 and didn't even know it the other day. Is the speed really governed?

Isn't the top end limits governed by the speed rating of the tires? I believe mine came with Z rated Pirellie's.
