should I or shouldn't I

so as some of you might know, im still at 3000, without any movement since early feb. well, i found a zl1 online with most of the options i want selling at msrp. i have to travel to get it and it has the sunroof and suede interior as extra options i didnt want originally (1400 extra). so, should i pull the trigger and get the one on the lot or wait til end of may or june to get mine?

Man, if it's a MSRP go for it, assuming you don't have ties to the current dealer you placed the order with.

Just buy this one and put the one you ordered on ebay for $80k when it arrives like some of the dealers. It' s a win win.

rrubio - Depends on if you can hold out - I ordered in November and did not get picked up till March - It was worth the wait as I got what I wanted - If you can hold out - I'd wait - "Thank's" for the web site for Lupe

Tough call, but if the one your looking at fits the bill for you, go for it ...

I know the waiting gets really old after 4 or 5 months.

Wait and get what you ordered. Why give up now? just wait a little bit more. Don't leave us that are in the same boat as you. We need to stick together.

I was in the same scenario but frozen at 1102. Found one with all the options I wanted but it was missing the suede and had a sunroof (really didnt want a sunroof). I picked it up on Tuesday and I am actually happy it had a sunroof. Its a nice edition even without opening it.

You can always order the non-suede components and change them out if you dont want them or do a swap with someone. The suede components cost about 350 from gm direct website so you can probably get the leather versions a little cheaper.

Depends do you have a deposit with your current dealer? I would go with the new one if not, and your happy with the options.

My problem is my dealer has 5K of mine and seems to be dragging his feet
and never calling me new info for the past 6 weeks. I have to call him, so go for it if you can. I'll never place a deposit on a car again.

I think I would jump on it for that. I have a deposit with a dealer that is non refundable and I will have to travel to get it.

I was in a similar situation last year when I ordered a 2011 Vert last Jan.
The car had a TPW of 3-22, and was built 3-24 and it sat in a parking lot iin Oshawa for 4 weeks.
Neither I nor the dealer could get ANY kind of answer from ANYONE in GM as to why it was sitting there.
I had put a very generous down payment on it.
In the meantime, I started checking around and ended up finding a similar car at a local dealer. It had all the right main items, the right color, engine, trans, etc but did not have a few of the options I had ordered such as the GFX, 21" wheels, strip, etc.

Long story short, I finally made the decision to buy the local car rather than wait any more. I got my deposit back, and bought the local car.

The next day I got the e-mail indicating my original ordered car had just been shipped.

Murphy's Law at work.

thanks for the input fellas, im doing it! just put the 500 deposit down, now gotta make arrangements to fly down there and have a weekend vacation out of it. its ashen gray, auto, with exposed carbon fiber insert, and black wheels. the only difference is the sunroof and the suede interior. As gedixon said, i could change out the suede for the leather if i dont like it. appreciate all the responses. hey, i gotta break it in anyways, might as well start with the journey back. oh yeah, the only thing i wanted thats not included is the gray stripe, but that too can be added later, with the sunroof, not really worth it though

Excellent!!! I drove mine 800 miles home. Driving it home is a great way to get acquainted and thoroughly enjoy it!! Tough to obey the break in for long drives though!
