Keys no longer linked to my camaro
Went out to my 2010 Camaro this evening to drive it and neither keys would remotely unlock the vehichle.
After I unlocked it manually I popped the hood to check the battery power.......it is fully charged. Put Key in ignition.....Anti-theft light is now on all the time. Car will not start and key will not come out of ignition. Since my Camaro is an automatic I can not put it in neutral to get it out of the garage.....so it can not be towed. Any idea why this happened? The dealership is suppose to be seding guys to my house tomorrow. |

Did you try changing the batteries in the remote? Doesn't the manual indicate a way to synch the remote with the car?
Also, don't most automatics have a transmission override button? Sorry, mine is a stick. But every auto I've owned has a plastic piece covering a tab that can be pressed in order to shift the car when it's not on. Look for that! Checking my owner's manual now... good luck! Oh, anything can be towed! They will just put the rears on wheel dolleys and lift the front ;( EDIT: Page 8-23 tells you how to release the manual shift lock. Looks like you can't replace the remote batteries yourself :( Don't like that! Shift Lock Manual Release The transmission has an electric park lock called a shift lock manual release. The key must be in the ON/RUN position, and the brake pedal pressed so the transmission gear selector can be moved from the P (Park) position. If the battery has lost power, the selector cannot be moved from P (Park) unless the shift lock manual release is disengaged manually. To access the shift lock manual release: 1. Apply the park brake. 2. Pull the passenger side console trim away from the front half of the console to expose the shifter mechanism. 3. Remove the retainer and the shift lock manual release cover. 4. Push and hold the manual release lever toward the rear of the vehicle. 5. Press the select button and move the transmission gear selector to the N (Neutral) position. 6. Release the lever. 7. After the vehicle has been moved, align the shift lock manual release cover plate and install the retainer so the automatic transmission can operate properly. 8. Place the console trim panel in the original position, aligning the fasteners on the trim panel with the slots in the console. Press in the side trim until it clicks in place. The transmission selector locks if it is moved back to the P (Park) position.

Weak or dead battery? Went to my 04 trailblazer one morning and tried to start it and nothing, tried to take the key out and it wouldn't come out. I put some jumpers on it and was able to get the key, the head lights came on weak and a volt meter showed around 10 volts. Got a new battery and traded it in on my camaro

OK, so here was the deal.
There a an active recall on my Camaro. I dont have the paperwork laying in front of me, but something with the computer system had to be reprogrammed. Also, the service tech said this caused my battery to short out as well. Service tech said he has not ever seen this type of recall do that to the battery. All is well and my Camaro 2SS is now back in my garage due to 12 inches of snow that we recieved over night. Thanks for all the posts |

Don't think it is a "Recall". More likely just a TSB.
