I've got 3500 Kilometers (approx 2000 miles) on my LS3 and it needed a litre of oil. Anyone else had to add before the first change? I read that some LS3 and other GM motors have had pcv issues that lead to oil consumption.

I'm at 1200 miles and have no oil consumption yet. However, My girlfriends LS1 trans am , drinks it like a fish.

I have an L99 but am running her hard for breakin and @ 350 miles she is 1/2 quart low. I will be watching her through the first oil change that will be @ 1000 miles and then see how she does after that. Not too worried right now, some use of oil is normal during breakin.

I spoke with a GM tech yesterday and he told me that GM considers up to 1 litre in 800 kilometers to be acceptable. Seems high to me but he is a very experienced GM guy and has no reason to BS me. I'll be all over them if mine gets even remotely close to that kind of consumption.

I'm at 700 miles with a moderate break-in procedure, NO oil consumption at all.
I'm doing as many hard accelerations as I can but keeping the Revs below 4500.

Normal. I have a catch can in the PVC system and it fills up quick. I dump .25 quart out of it when I've been running hard.

I last checked my vette's LS3. It has over 7000 since the last oil change. It only use half a quart.
