That's because the LS7 is completely different. The Exhaust manifolds aren't "that bad" there with a ZO6, the Camaro on the other hand, as a complete system (from the engine back to the muffler) is bad for performance but good for being quiet to keep some people happy that complain about things being too loud to GM, ESPECIALY on the automatic transmission equipped Camaro which is even more restrictive...

Your theory makes a lot of sense to me. I heard that a lot on the Corvette forum, Kind of like the Z06 already comes with very eficient headers way better than the C6. So I can see the significant gains on a SS.

I was just pitching in my grain of salt. Thanks for your reply.

Because the LS7 has a far better set of factory manifolds, in fact they are mini shorty headers.

LS7:

LS3 have a more log style type manifold.

C6ZO6Dude, The ZO6 is also equipped with 3" exhaust that's far more free flowing than the 2-1/2" system standard on the Gen 5. I will tell you this about your ZO6, stab a cam in it and you'll be down 30-40 HP with the factory manifolds. Any kind of cam upgrade deems the factory ZO6 manifolds useless.

Hey Nick,

Off topic but when I was in Lewisville,TX at Quality Motorsports having some work done to my Z06 the guys at Qualitymotorsports(Patrick) told me that by far the ARH headers were the easiest for them to install and their prefered brand. They had boxes of your headers stocked for install.

I'm gunna get a set of these for my camaro, but i was wondering what your thoughts were on getting a catted or not catted system? What are the power gains (catted Vs Non-Catted)? Any difference? Will the catted system throw a code without a tune? Also do you make any that aren't necked down in the back? I'd like 3" all the way back,(cuz I won't be using the factory mufflers anyway), Would this help or hurt your power gains?
Any input you can throw out is greatly helpful and appreciated!

If your not planning major HP mods the cats may cost you 5rwhp. Not sure what your emission laws are that could make a differance.Personally unless your building a race car I'd keep the cats. All long tubes will throw rear O2 codes you will need a tune to fix them and get the most gain from the system. I don't think you will see any power gain in going 3" all the way out unless your making alot of power you may even hurt it a tad not 100% on that yet. But if you want 3" I'm sure we can take care of it.

O2 Sims? The reason i ask is I want to get an intake and exhaust first then later (when I get enough $$$) A cam THEN a tune. Any thoughts, Ideas? will the car go into limp mode with the rear O2 code?
