For those of you arriving in Oshawa Friday morning, we are recommending that you come directly to Martinrea. It's about 25 min's west of the hotel on the 401.
Going directly there will save you time. There will be food, drinks and washrooms at Martinrea to tend to your travel weary bodies.

My East Convoy Routes have been Modified already..Should arrive for 11:30AM at Martinrea...pending Traffic...

****Convoy Info From The West****

Our group will be crossing through the Port Huron/Sarnia border. Anybody coming from the west that wants to meet up with us, please let me know!

I have been told that it is much less time consuming to go this way than to go through Windsor.

I will be figuring out two places to meet up with people, one just before Port Huron in Michigan and one once we are into Canada, maybe where the 402 meets the 401. (I still don't have any plans to meet anybody here...let me know if you are planning on meeting us here!)

My caravan is meeting at the Meijer Grocery store in Cascade (5531 28th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI) and heading out of the West Michigan area some time between 12:30 and 1:30 pm. This should put us at the Sarnia crossing AROUND 3:45 to 4:45 pm. We will stop to the Blue Water Bridge Duty Free Shop (http://www.bluewaterbridgedutyfree.com/) on the way through and I am thinking we should be at the 401/402 an hour and 45 minutes later (allowing a half hour to shop) around 5:30 or 6:15 pm. This should put us arriving in Oshawa around 8:15 pm to 9:00 pm.

These are all estimates. If anybody looks at this and says 'She's Crazy!', please let me know. I am relying on Mapquest for my time estimates!

Hello all! Less than 2 days to go!

Couple quick things - First, if you haven't already, please review the updated schedule in post 683 above.

Second, for anyone planning to take the plant tour at Martinrea Friday - this year there is a few rules that we need to follow please:

- No entering the plant for any reason other than with a tour guide (all other activities, BBQ etc. will be outside, I believe we will be able to access washrooms through the office)
- No electronic devices in the plant. Anyone found to have an electronic device will be asked to leave.
- No open toe or high heel shoes allowed in the plant.
- Safety glasses (provided by Martinrea) must be worn at all times while inside the plant


Last year was great and everyone cooperated. This year there is some tighter rules but I don't think that's a problem. I think we can all live with the above and everyone's happy

Ok i am somewhere in Ohio Drove 700 miles today and i tell you what whoever said they didnt like the interior you are crazy i have a very bad curve in my spine and to drive 700 miles in one day and dont hurt is amazing. I am not tired not sore eyes dont hurt. I could have drove more but i force myself to stop. I will see you all friday,,,

BTW i got 554.7 miles on one tank of gas how awesome is that

If you want, I am right off I-75 and have spare room. I am 20 minutes south of WIndsor. I don't know which way you're going but the offer is there.

My wife and I will be staying at the Days Inn in St. Catharines, Ontario Thursday night. If you leave the Casino about 8:00AM you should be passing through St. Catharines about 8:30 - 9:00 AM depending on how long it takes to get across the border. We will look for your group. Any idea how many will be with you? Will you be using a FRS radio, and if so what channel?

Might be closer to 9am have to stop by the duty free store first.. Not sure how many are in his group
