There's a guy with a supercharged camaro at local track with full bolt ons(from intake manifold to headers, etc) and he did like 13.4 @ 106 mph. Friend's 2010 SS with programmer did 13.0 @ 108 mph.... V6's don't have the torque to get out of the hole and wide gearing kills them, unlike the LS cars.

not if u change to 3.91 gear ratio for a v6. then we have a different ending.

The Camaro in question put a cam, headers, tire on it and runs 11.9-12.3's now.

He trapped 123 on a small shot, should trap 127-128 now. V6 go boom before that point.

To get the LFX at 350+ you need intake, exhaust, high flow cats, and tune
Is it possible to get 350 RWHP on the LFX with bolt ons only

I know the guy your talking about. Posts here often. He has not had the best of luck getting his kit to perform properly. There are other V6s with the SC kit that have ran into the 12s. It doesn't have the low end torque because it is a centrifugal supercharger, but get the rpms up a bit and it will walk a stock SS.

A properly setup turbo V6 is another story. They have the torque and the power to stomp stock SS and even beat modified ones (bolt ons, tune, even lightly cammed) . I'm not turning this into V6 V8 war...just stating facts.

No way. I was just talking crank.

That he does...that car makes around 700HP/700TQ.

It also went boom at that level after a few passes. Now that he has rebuilt and forged the motor it is a beast!

But so far we've not seen any V6 go "boom" when the power level is kept around 500ish at the crank.

I'm actually down to 13.3 from a tune and setup that was 14.2. I've also gotten my trap up to 108. Been finding all the small issues with my setup. It hates 100% gas but loves ethanol, the PCV needs to be under vacuum and just not vented, and it loves cold plugs ( 2 steps down so far). I'm still pulling 5 degrees of timing at the track, I'm hoping doing meth will push me into the 12's easily.

Gears will solve the torque issue for the V6, but for an auto it is an expensive upgrade. I've got 3 more pieces to go before I can install 3.91's.

Also, stock V6's run 15's at our track when you cut through their BS excuses.

I guess it depends on how small (big) the head start is. That being said, why would you race someone and want a head start?

Yeah, but like they say "anything can be made fast with enought $$$s."

Yeah, the stock internals are pretty tough, but they have their limits. There are enough guys that have run around the 450-500 RWHP level (Me, Cant_c_me, HP Turbine, etc...) for a while to know the V6s can take it. After forging it will they will take a lot more (I'm at 800+HP/900+TQ at the crank now).

So to summarize. A bolt on A6/V6 that beats a stock A6/V8 is most likely beating the driver. FI gets you level where you can compete head-to-head with most of the modded SSes, but there is always someone faster.

Oh okay.. Makes sense.

If you had tire, gears, stall... A 108 trap is good for low to mid 12's. So the power is there.
