Carbotech's saved me and the 1LE today.....one of the others was not so lucky.. RIP

Well today's drive to one of our restaurants turned into a tragedy for one family and only the carbotech's and ZL1 upgrade saved me and the 1LE from abeing another. Unfortunately there was nothing I could do to save the 88 year old man in the passenger rear of the MBZ, as I was unable to get him out of the car before he passed....I tried with all of my strength to move the tangled mess of bent seats etc that were around him, but NO ONE would help me and it took 15 minutes for the fire dept/police to show up. I cannot believe how far our society has fallen, people slowing down/stopping (actually getting out of their cars) TO TAKE PICTURES, then speed away while I struggle to save an injured mans life. I hope none of you ever have to experience this, as it is probably life altering for most. I was able to get both the driver and her husband out, but the picture of the deceased man taking his last breaths and the sounds of his screaming daughter will be permanently engraved in my soul and I am a hardened combat veteran. RIP.

The ONLY reason I am not in the middle of this pile up, is because I put on the carbotech XP12/10's 1 day ago in preperation for Laguna Seca, over the next 2 weekends in a row. I actually went out late last night and properly bedded them in....thank god I did. This accident happened at 75mph and the 1LE stopped about 5 car lengths quicker than the other 7 vehicles in the group, avoiding the accident all together, the small white suv with the back open actually hit the brakes at the same time I did....he hit 2 cars, the K wall and then was hit by MBZ as it came back around, I stopped on the debris field (that is how quick it stopped), it was like a slow to fast motion video around me as the 1LE dove, stuck, stopped as the rest of the group continued into the pile up. If I would of had the stock pads, there is NO WAY I would have avoided this, if I would of had ceramic pads, I would probably be between the MBZ and the truck on the other side....I have preached on these boards why ceramic pads are not meant for 4000lb cars and I hope this makes my point.

I only snapped this picture as evidence and it is after I removed both the woman in the picture and her husband. I was running back from my car (went to get a knife to cut seat belts). I want you all to look at at this picture closely....The uninjured driver of the truck (cause of the accident ...probably texting) and the 2 occupants of the black MBZ also not hurt, are SITTING IN THEIR CARS while I struggle to save a mans life! The driver of the white suv is on his phone calling his WIFE and the occupants of the cars further down also do not help...

I feel for you man. Have been in a kinda similar situation before, and you never forget. The guilt really sucks even if you did all you could.

yeah this is going to be a tough one, I actually can't even talk right now, because my throat is so sore from screaming at the Mbrace (onstar) operator. What part of "there are life threatening injuries, send police, fire and ambulance now" is so hard to understand?

Sorry to hear someone passed away in the accident, worse to hear that no one else would help but at least you know you did all that you could to save a mans life and thats what matters. Society now has no soul everyone is a Social media sheep and they don't realize it until its too late. Keep your head up and hold your family tight tonight cause you made it home safe.

having seen combat, your instincts took over and assessed the situation and formulated a plan. You did what you could. thanks. sadly to many people dont stop to help. its even sadder that they left.

thank you for your service and assitance with the accident.

That's a terrible thing to experience, but it sounds like you did everything you could do. Glad you made it home safely, but yeah thats a terrible memory. The general public sucks and you shouldn't have had to do that by yourself.

I was a passenger in a SUV that rolled and got punted by a semi while sliding (trailering a race car, hitch failure). Three of us were trapped in the car, 2 hurt bad, thank goodness people like yourself stopped and assisted. I remember when the SUV finally came to stop, my friend asked, is anyone else alive? It made a great deal of difference. People took things out of there car to help us from going into shock before the EMS arrived (15 minutes as well) I've helped others when witnessed this, it is surreal and not easy to shake off. Happy you were not personally hurt.
