How well are the new ZL1's selling?
How well are the new ZL1's selling? Like many of you, I have been watching some of the ZL1 postings on the various car sale sites. There seems to be a good inventory out there for anybody who wants a M6 right now and under MSRP. I notice some of the ones I have seen are selling under MSRP and sitting on the lots for a while now.
So is it that most are waiting for the A10? It is only the beginning of the production cycle for these cars and would expect it hard to find these vehicles. Yet, if you want an M6, under MSRP, with your choice of car color and options, you can get it now. Furthermore, there are more inventory to come in the coming months. Anyways, just an observation and wanted to hear from you guys. Last edited by h777; 01-30-2017 at 07:21 AM. |

OP I think you answered your own question. Most buyers want an auto sadly, and the ZL1 is an expensive car. And many buy according to the HP number. Just like on the 5th gens the ZL1 was the most complete super muscle car, but only for the few who could appreciate it.

Waiting on the A10 here. I know many are and I've heard others that are kind of on the fence and waiting until some A10 reviews come in to make their final decision. I've also heard one say they were going to wait on the A10, but found an M6 on a local lot, and got one.

Also most people don't buy these sorts of cars this time of year. There is uncertainty politically right now, so a lot plays in to it IMHO.

It's a halo car and still expensive for the vast majority of people. The people that can afford these cars should be very grateful about the position they are in.

Honestly, I'm looking for a slightly used one coming this spring/summer. I just have a problem with paying the GG tax and then being charged sales tax on a tax as well as paying sales tax on the destination charge as well. I know it doesn't add up to much but it's the principle of the matter. Definitely would like the M6 though.

Most waiting for autos probably. It's the smart move of late with the autos now besting manual trans cars handily. Same thing happened with the Hellcat.

I'm going to wait for the A10, if for nothing else, just to see what other people are saying about it as they get it. I know it's amazing already but I'm a long time diehard manual guy. Just goes to show you how interested this A10 has me. I still think a Manual can be more fun, but the Auto will allow you to beat pesky GT500s/Hellcats with a lot more ease. If it comes out and I still want a manual, I still pay the same price, heck maybe I can get a mildly used M6 one this summer and save 5 grand. But being there's nasty weather in Michigan until April/May, there's no point in buying now. Although admittedly the prices tend to go up a little bit in the summer.

Check the actual ad. "Under the hood you'll find an 8 cylinder engine with more than 400 horsepower, and for added security, dynamic Stability Control supplements the drivetrain." That generic definition may be scaring some off. lol. I too am surprised by how slowly they seem to be moving, but I imagine its not as it seems. I very rarely see 5th Gen ZL1s but apparently thousands were sold.
