What are typical time frames once the car reaches the rail system??
I just got an update on my car from the Gernal Sales Mgr at my dealership that did not make me do cartwheels, let me tell ya. This is nothing against my dealer for they have been great throughout this whole process. Basically, in a nutshell, he said my car is at the plant going through QC process which is just fine. He then said the car would not reach a railcar until next week. That is fine too. Then he said once the car is in the rail system it was anybody's guess but it has been taking 30 daysish for arrival at the dealership. 30 daysish??? Good Lord. Does it really take that long to ship on the rail system or is he just doing a little CYA action? OR is it possible he meant the whole process has been taking 30 days from when it was PRODUCED which was the week of 6/15, until delivered to the dealership.
What has been your experience for those who were able to track or follow the shipment process?

Agree on the 2 week rail ship. Mine was also shipped on 6/22 and dealer expects it by 7/3 according to how their other cars have shipped and arrived.

Well, I'm feeling a little better. Thanks guys. By the way, my I/T date is 7/7/09. What exactly does I/T mean anyway? In Transit? Intended (something that starts with a T)?
EDIT: Just found another thread that says EXP I/T means Expired In Transit date. Now, what happens if that date comes and goes but no Camaro. Does the dealer have to pay some sort of dialy interest on the purchase of the car or something?

mine was the exact same and was told the samething. But by looking on spasstic squirrel the dealer got a vin that was like 500 ahead of mine and they the car on wed, and my car could have only been a day maybe two behind on the line.

Seems as though the SE US is taking about 2 weeks, mine was exactly 2 weeks to the day and from looking at other timeframes people have reported it's about the same.
The NE seems to get theirs a little less than 2 weeks and Central seems to get them quickly...like a week or something. Those are just my observations based on the reports I see on the forums |

Mine was shipped June 22, supposedly, and my dealership said to expect it the week of July 6. I would much rather it get here on July 3 like you guys were told!

Mine has been sitting at the Fort Worth StockYards since Tuesday afternoon! How long did it take for yours to arrive at your dealers after it made it to Fort Worth. Dealer keeps saying "any day now"....

To get to Jacksonville NC the cars get dropped off the Rails at Petersburg VA (according to my dealer at least).
It has been taking 7 days on average to get the car from CAN to VA. The last car for my dealer, which was shipped 6-17 only took 5 days to get to VA. so things may be speeding it. It all depends on just how many cars are on the train and have other stops before yours. obviously, the more cars there are that need to unload before your stop, the longer it will take the train to get to your stop

Mine was on a rail car on 6/16. It's ETA is tommorrow 6/27. That's from Oshawa to Salt Lake City, UT. Eleven days for me. But, it's getting here on a Saturday, so it won't get to the dealer until Monday or Tuesday. I was told that transports don't run on weekends.

Yep. It was one of the best cars I've ever owned. To give you an idea, I sold it with 202,000 miles on it and it was still running strong on the original clutch. It was my daily driver but garage kept and well maintained. I'm really gonna miss that car but hope to get over that soon. I only hope my SS will serve me as well as that '91 Mustang did...if I ever get it that is...
