Oh I forgot to add the NT05R are the best handling DR I've ever used. Maybe it's because I I'm using 20's and around 35psi hot but they are MILES ahead of the MT's I had on 18's in my old CTS-V as well as BFG DR's on my older F-body cars.

That is a great time bone stock. The best I could ever pull off was a 12.26 with my Falken Azeni's.

I just cannot go down to the local..... And pick up a set of matching second hand wheels. It will cost me $3300 Aus $ to get new Chevy ones Air Freighted over... Hmmmm May look around a bit first or find a copy... I will be trying the NTO5R drag tyres as soon as I solve the wheel problem. Rattle gun them on just for Drag Days going to the track.... "Chrispy" above has a testimonial on them.. Supposedly better than MT's, and I have heard that "Down Under" as well... lone Ranger... |

MT's will hook better, Nitto will handle better. Both are so damn soft that daily driving will eat them up.
Forget about matching wheels, save $$$$. You are just gonna bolt them on for drag track days. Get a wheel that works.

The problem is that my Inferno Orange with Carbon Fiber hood insert, Phat tires, and shark gills, is EYE CANDY... I mean I go cruising to find a good restaurant with a parking place right in front... I can't mix the wheels, it would look like dog doodle... Half my fun, so maybe 1/4 my fun... (OK maybe 10% of my fun is just looking at the car.).. I would have to buy a whole set of aftermarket wheels, and OK... But then that is twice the wheels to change for drag day.... So, "Here's Johnny" the Shining... What say you now?? I might have to find some Agent or Wrecking yard to Air Freight me two.. That or bite the bullet and go for the $3300 for two new ones (.73 Aus $/ U.S$ so sort of $2500 or something) |

I prefer matching wheels too. That's why I went with NT05Rs on the stock wheels. Even the 18 inch repros don't look exactly the same.

Right ON Chrispy!!
My problem is just the principle of having to pay $3300 Aus $ for two new factory wheels after Air Freight to Oz... If I get a HP kit or something Air Freight out of the U.S. I might see if they could locate and ship me some second hand one. The polished alloy five spoke looks so good.. Five spoke of two each with centers... I don't know if the NTO5R will hold me in first and second after I go to 650-700 HP.. Some reports are a solid NO.. But I need the wheels anyway. I am going to the Willowbank Street Drags tomorrow to run, maybe I will find out there what is available here Down Under.. But I still need the wheels... Hmmmm Best regards, lone Ranger Mine looks like this only these are older photos... Mine now has the Carbon Fiber hood insert and shark gills fill in on the back trim in front of the rear wheels.... |

Full drag packs look awesome I'm not stuck on the factory wheels I just don't really like mismatched front and rear.
Also I don't think the NT05R's will hook another 100hp. I wished I could hard brake torque and immediately floor it with the Nittos but it doesn't quite hook that well. I just put the Nittos on as my DD tire. (I didn't buy extra rims) I don't put a ton of miles on the car every year (Maybe 5K km?) so I'll just buy a set every year. Next year I'll probably go with the MT's ET Street SS to see how they work. Have the traction on the street is worth the money on DR's every year or two. |

M/T ET Streets work very well for daily duty. Also, you can get 18" ZL1 replica wheels that match right up to your stock ones. |
