Borla exhaust misconception

So I've search till my eyes hurt on this forum and on the internet for the right exhaust for my 2014 ZL1.I kept finding that Borla Atak was the loudest with headers but have a drone to them.My car has LPE 700 + package that comes with a GT9 cam and installed pfadt headers.Factory exhaust did have drone and sounded muffled at wot.I ordered the Borla Atak exhaust and had blanchard performance do the install. The car now has a true muscle car sound and there is 0% percent drone at wot.I will post a start up video tomorrow. So for any one on the fence about this exhaust I can honestly say it is drone free.

I have never ran the atack. on my stingers on my corvette and the turbo's on my mustang GT the borlas drone was at a certain RPM. not at WOT at all.

on my mustang it was right at 2k. on my z06 is was 1600rpm and then after second skin and mass loaded vinyl it moved it up to about 2k

its not bad with a stick you can drive around the drone. the auto cars are where the mid rpm stuff kill you.

have you put enough miles on it to see if there is resonant frequency at a certain RPM yet?

I drove 90 minutes back in traffic on I-10 and speed was from 60 to 85 at times.Took an exit to try and find gas and speed was in the city 0-40 with plenty of red lights.I was truly expecting some drone but it was not present. Will play around with it more today.

I have a 2010 with cam, headers, and the ATAK (about 3 years now), and the drone I have always had is between 1500 -1800 rpm. It is only when I am going in that rpm range for a steady period of time, but I got used to it.

Hey maxx sounds great so is it noticeably louder than stock I have pfadt long tubes also. What about the baffle connecters from the stock exhaust did you have to do anything special with those?

Everything was plug and play Rhino.Old exhaust came out and new exhaust went right in.Borla did a good job at matching everything like the stock exhaust. We did a few tack welds to the exhaust to keep all the pieces nice and tight.Total install took maybe 45 minutes.

Wow, that's almost as loud as headers with the stock exhaust. Does it have the dual mode exhaust like stock?
