Look out Ford. The COPO pulled a high 9 sec pass! Best run was reported as a 9.69 at 140, with 60 foot times in the low 1.40′s.

Very nice, but I don't think the Cobra Jet has anything to fear just yet. Randy Hopkins ran a 8.47 @ 159MPH in a 2010 Cobra Jet, and Hodge Ford is in the 8s with their 2012 Cobra Jet.

This is the first run of the COPO. If I remember correctly, this run had a supercharged 5.3 under the hood. Imagine a 6.2 or 7.0. It will eventually hit 8's...only a matter of time. That 8.47 Cobra Jet run is impressive though.

Very cool but I dont think Ford needs to look out quite yet with its Cobra Jets running 8.0@170mph with their new 4.0L Whipple's.

There is a rumor that the 650HP 2013 GT500 was a response to what Dodge is going to release and had nothing to do with the ZL1......we will see..........

Supposedly Dodge is getting into the 11's with a blower on a 392 (at 570 HP) and Ford is getting 11's with the 2013 GT500.

Rumor is that Ford decided to go from 620HP to 650 HP because of the Dodge testing results.........

Dodge has been testing a blower motor for a while now. A few Dodge engineers have even said they were. They went as far as saying they even had some belt tensioner failures during testing. When and what they are doing is anybodys guess. Hell, we are almost in the 11's stock as of now with just the N/A 392. I cant find the thread in the challenger forum but a guy that works at the factory where they do the testing said he saw a "bunch" of blower motors sitting in the corner of the building. My guess is we will see something the end of 2013 for the 2014 model year.

Its already been seen and discussed.

The Boss 302 was the motivation for the 2013 Shelby GT500 not the Camaro ZL1

I am sure the Boss was one of the motivations......

.......but he sure as hell aint gonna convince me that the ZL1 wasnt one also

..........I mean the GT500 does not need 650 HP to kill the Boss....That was for someone else

I believe him, the 2013 has been in testing for over a full year now and back when they began testing the ZL1 program was a no go as described in the article.
