Finally some people who get it

Check out the comments. This is one of the first time I've seen internet commentators outside of Camaro5 recognize the awesomeness for what it is, without any of that "GM is bad" crap.

Here's hoping those sentiments translate to sales.
Not that I want a Camaro around every block, like 3rd & 4th gen, but if there's enough orders they'll keep making them & refining them. |

I would hate to see 100 of them drive by me on the way to work, but if that meant that they would keep refining it, so in 5 years I could go up to the 2016 model, i'll support it

Are you kidding, I would love to see a road full of camaros and vettes, It would be like heaven. I already do it now with my monte carlo, there is a trillion of those on the road. LOL, whats funny is that my mom just realized how popular her brand new impala is.

Although I want Camaro to succeed, I'm at odds with with wanting to see one everywhere I go. I don't want it to become a Ford Taurus or something but I definately want the car to succeed and GM to see there is a strong market for this car.

I don't think people care at the V6 level about things like IRS. Look at the last gen,the '96-02 F-body 3.8 was superior to the 3.8 Mustang in all areas, like features and performance, yet you see where that got it. I think it's all about looks and cheap price at the V6 level, and if you liked the looks of the Dodge,a 300HP Camaro isn't going to sway you,or vice versa the Mustang over the Camaro. If people cared about who much car you get for 20K,nobody would buy V6 pony cars,we'd all be driving 4-banger Accords or Rabbits. It's all a gut reaction,i'd say even for the V8 levels for 85% of buyers,us car people are in the minority.
I'm not going to defend the V6 Mustang,it sucks. The '05-09 is actually quite quick, but that damn truck enough takes all of the fun out of it. The V6 Camaro might as well be from Mars in comparison, but i think at 22K,most people won't care, they'll like that one car has so many cup holders vs the cool dash lights of another or what kind of spoiler looks best and other meaningless crap and things like the IRS will go right over most people's head. I love/hate seeing so many Mustangs on the road,i hate that except for the Shelbys or Machs,it's a common car,but i love that being popular keeps it cheap and keeps it going,so Catch 22. At 22K,you'll see a ton of Camaros soon,so you won't be immune. I think it's amazing to see 4th gen Z28's in horrible junker condition or sitting dead in somebody's yard, that was THE car for me in high school,it was so amazing to spot one when they first came out and now,it's just another used car.sad. Same for the '94-04 Mustang. |

Even then,i wouldn't be so sure,it's why people buy a Harley over a Honda or a Camaro over a 335i,technology is pretty irrelevent if you got a hard on for a Sportster or a Mustang. Flip it,a STI has so much more technology than a SS Camaro at around the same price and it has 5-doors and AWD and on paper,it's a car that offers more, but for everyone on this board and me,that is meaningless if you WANT that Camaro. You want what you want,a GTO was better and faster than my car,but i didn't want it

^Again, you have a valid point. And the V6 market is much more saturated with non enthusiasts than the V8 market is. However, the Mustang and the Camaro will always go head to head. So, here's hoping that Chevy does a good job of communicating what you get for the extra 1k. Like I said, we'll have to wait and see.

I would say the V6 Mustang is embarassing next to the V6 Camaro for just 1K less. Hopefully,it will matter for once and maybe we'll get a better V6 out of slipping sales. Well,i also mean not just the engine but the base car as a whole.
