Purchasing Dealer package to protect paint and interior

I ordered a new SS last week - due to arrive in May. While making the deal, I knew that after the price was negotiated, the dealership would start with the "Protection Package" for interior and exterior - retail around $795, I think. This package was included in the negotiated price.

After thinking about it, I'm probably not informed enough to know whether this was a good move or not?

The Question: Should I proceed and have them clearcoat the outside and put protector in the leather interior and carpets?

Any advice? Thanks Rod

I was offered the same thing and declined. To me the product is snake oil. I prefer to apply my own was, especially on a nice warm summer day and enjoy my car care.

Easy answer NO! May have been negotiated but you are still paying for it, use the $795 towards any mods you want to complete.

Actually, I didn't pay the $795 - I got the package for $100. But, it's either a good thing or it isn't and that's independent of the costs. I'll keep listening, but I'm 0-3 so far.

Thanks for the input, guys.

Does it come with any kind of warranty? If so, for $100 I don't see the harm in it.

Can you share any details about it?

Make it 0-4, partially.

I'd consider letting them apply something to the interior, but tell them to stay 100 miles away from the paint.

No prep, no wash, no buffing, no magical protectant.

No, I do not trust a dealer with my paint for one second.

Always a total waste of money, just like buying an extended warrantee.
