Fastlane, Hennessey & Late Model Racecraft CAI's
I visited with all 3 shops in one place today... Took a few pics that might help you decide. All have pros & cons
- Fastlane pipes to lower grill for true CAI... but you must completely replace the washer reservoir. - Hennessey is a solid system that looks cool too especially w/ the SC - Late Model Racecraft has one of the best designs with a lot of testing behind it. Plastic may be a great option for durability and to keep heat down. All are great folks and totally enjoyed meeting and discussing the various Camaro options with them... Believe me there is a lot more in the works... Enjoy...: |

It was very nice meeting you yesterday. Like I said before, if you ever have any questions or just want to see some cool stuff, always feel free to give me a call or just drop on by at the shop!
I love how you can see the other shops CAI's are made out of aluminum. Aluminum looks good and functions well when cold, but after one dyno pull it heat soaks and you WILL see the #'s drop. That is why intake manifolds are now made out of plastic.

As of today I have not seen a TRUE cold-air intake system. I have not seen the factory system yet so do not rule that one out. It may be awhile as those that have daily drivers must deal with rain/water ingestion issues. Also, the further above the highway you ingest air generally the cooler it is so a system that breathes too low will pull in hoter air. My 2 cents.

I hope all 3 makers of these CAI's can comment on this.
Did you do any R&D on the sensor placement in the tube? -bobby

On a hot summer day, that intake is going to be 140 degrees under that hood if not hotter. And that is with the engine NOT running! |

I am getting LMR's next month. Can't wait to go by their new shop. Not that I ever went by the old one but I want to see what is going on over there.
I have decided on LMR for CAI

The first pics or first system calls for a New windshield washer res.
