Car cover Bad?

Not sure how many ordered the car cover.

Was kind of disapointed when i got mine, just seems cheap for the amount they charge..

anyway today is the first day i used it on my car (2SS/RS)
and

it is a very tight fit.

however rather than the material having some stretch to it..
which it doesnt.. it seems like you have to realy pull it across the panels
(front and back) to get a fit..
the material is something similar to a windbreaker...

my concern is will this scratch or put swirls in my finish?
what if i drive the car and garage it...
if there is fine road dust on the car and then put on the cover?

not sure if this will be a problem.
any thoughts?

I use a California duster before I put my cover on.

I don't have one (much less a car).

But I had the chance to try one out on a car, and I gotta say coming from a skepticle view point, I was really impressed. I don't think this material would scratch your paint.

It is like a windbreaker material but it's not grainy, it is very fine and smooth.

I have one too and found it to be a very tight fit. I would assume it would loosen a little but not much. Yes, it can scratch the paint if you are not careful. I would strongly recommend you have a very good wax job before putting the cover on to help prevent scratches.

Remember! you are not to use the car cover for three months - paint has to cure/harden!!!

Inside Only

As someone who has owned a Corvette for years I would basically only use this cover inside your garage to keep the dust off. It does not look like all weather cover.

My advice....be carefull!

Factory paint was baked on, it is already fully cured.
Does the car cover instructions specifically say not to use in the first 3 months?

If this was an aftermarket paint job, the statement above would be correct.

I didn't see anything about not using it for 3 months. I have used mine since the very first day I got my car. My only problem was it was tough to put it on by myself but with some suggestions from the forum I am able to get it on much easier.

I don't think the cover is cheap looking at all and it would have to fit tight if you keep your car outside or the wind would pull it off.

I use mine all the time and I would be curious of someone can confirm the 3 month thing because I haven't seen that any where.

well i know i demoed this for other people at the first meet and milk was there, i have used many times and i see nothing wrong with my paint, also yeah for me the car is not daily driven so dusting the car off then putting it on sounds good. also when taking it off i have a way.

1) unhook it from the car
2) then fold it in half
3) fold it the third time
4) then start rolling or folding up from the hood to the roof
5)don't pull walk beside the car then slightly pull it towards youand keep folding or rolling
6) then your done

i found it to be easy if you are alone that way.

Oh! I beg to differ, check out the below link, it will confirm the three month wait period!
