Can I chose which options of the packages I want?

Ok so say that I buy the 1SS/RS and I only want a FEW options from the 2SS package, can I pick and chose which ones I want to add from the 2SS or do I have to order the whole damn 2SS package?

the 2ss is a bundle to save money on ordering all those options. so if you want to shop alacarte you can, you just may pay more for an option then you would if it was in a package or trim level

1SS
Standard Equipment
- 6.2L V8 engine
- 20 inch Aluminum wheels
- Brembo brakes including 4-piston calipers on all 4 wheels
- Engine oil cooler
- Transmission oil cooler
- Limited slip differential
- SS Gauge cluster
- SS spoiler
- SS grille badge
- Leather steering wheel and shift knob
- Power driver’s seat

Optional Equipment
- Floor mats
- 20-inch polished aluminum wheels
- Power sunroof
- Boston acoustics 245watt 9-speaker premium audio
- Convenience & Connections Package
- RS Package

So it depends on the options, and of course we don't have every detail yet, and Chevy can still change things. It's all in the 'Official Camaro Standard Equipment / Options for all Trim Levels' thread stickied in the general forum.

you should be able to get any of the stuff from the 2ss as options aswell, it is just a 2ss for pricing reasons.

Not necessarily. So options come only as a bundle. We don't know what 2SS items will be stand alone options for the 1SS yet, but it won't be all of them. That is just how the industry works.

This would be different from every other Chevy right now. GM sells packages. Convenience, Safety, Chrome Appearance, ect.

For example, lets say that you want a 1LT Silverado with remote start, but you don't want fog lamps. You cannot order it that way, as they both come in a package. Another example would be that you want power adjustable pedals, but don't want parking assist. Can't do it.

You can't order a 1LT Malibu with ultra-lux seats from a 2LT.

I'm not saying you are wrong, but it would be out of the norm for you to be able to pick and choose your options, no matter how much more you spend.

GM is getting away from the "buffet style" option selecting. It costs too much money to manage it. The more they can bundle options together, the more money they can save building the car.

Yeah I am very happy they are doing this on the Camaro, hopefully it will shave of a few hundred dollars if you go with one of the packages! Also I was wondering if the Camaro will come with basic floormats, and the option for floormats is merely an upgrade?

I haven't seen that specifically addressed, though the posters at Indy showed floormats that were clearly different than the floormats that've been shown with some of the PrePros out there. This definately isn't conclusive evidence, but I think it'd be a mistake to not include basic floormats. Maybe it's just me but when I see a car without floormats I think cheap, and not in a good way but in the Aveo kind of cheap.
