Mine pulled 233hp in 96 dg. weather and the engine was hot, but that still seemed low to me. I believe now it was due to heat soak after everything I have read. I had made a few runs down the track and it only sat a few minutes before I drove it over to the shop to dyno it. There isn't any way it had time to cool down so I would think this threw the timing off resulting in low numbers and less power. Any thoughts?

I posted this in this thread on page one.

Even it the car wasn't heat soaked, the ambient was 95 degrees, so the computer is really going to be pulling some timing.... Probably quite a bit... so not surprised but the lower numbers...

Was yours ever Dyno yet.
So far is there only 5 of us that did the test!!
And if we changed the IAT Sensor position would that help and by how much?
Maybe someone can do a Spread sheet with our results and then we can just add / update and repost it.

IMHO the separate IAT sensor has helped... Not 100% scientific... ideally you would do all the testing the same day without removing the car from the dyno... but since I'm paying for the dyno time out of my own pocket, I really can't afford to time up the dyno all day while we do testing, cool downs, testing, cool downs, etc.

That being said.. here the best I could do.. sheet show some gains with a separate IAT.

My car has also run faster and more consistent at the track since this mod...

BTW... there are a couple of thread out there where this subject has been beat to death... LOL

forgot about my last dyno session!

Here is 100% stock vs modded...

So.. went from 248 RWHP to 255 RWHP... 222 RWTQ to 233 RWTQ... But more importantly are the gains I'm seeing through out the whole RPM range, just not peak...

Also on 2 other Runs there was a glich between 4250 & 4750..it drop and then peaked twice. So the 3rd time we tried in 2nd gear and it was OK..steady climbed. Then pulled another run in 3rd and it was OK this time....Don`t know what it could of been..It did the same thing once on my first pull before the Mods were done.

Not sure what it is you're referring to but the V6 does have a dip in its power band. Its a quirk of the VVT/dual cams. Think of it as the engine switching from low RPM setup to high RPM setup.

Just got done pulling mine off the dyno! Unfortunetly, I don't have a factory baseline, as I didn't get to dyno it before I did the Flowmasters. That said, my best with the exhaust and before IAT relocation was 245.51rwhp and 234.1ftlb of torque. After relocation, and just letting it sit under the hood by the washerfluid bottle, I gained 2.4hp to 247.9 and lost almost 4ftlbs of torque, down to 230 and some change. I'll get the printouts scanned and will post the exact numbers, temp and correction factor.

The car did run more efficient as the horsepower line got very smooth.

I'll post pics of where I installed the sensor too....

Man, if all the AFRs look like that off idle to 2.5K it's no wonder the autos stumble off the line! That's lean! Any one else have their AFR results?

got to remember on a dyno you really aren't coming off idle... rollers are rolling, car is shifting... dyno operator hits the start button and then gets on the gas... So at that point the car is probably in the leaner cruise mode...

So to me that starting AF looks pretty typical to me...
